One short page a day for 45 days, built on my own lines about leaving social media, with graded research, a small checklist and one thing to do offline. It counts days read, never days in a row.
Problem: Apps that add friction act at the moment you open a feed. Almost nothing covers the weeks after you leave: the relapse, the 30-day deletion buffer, the quiet "desert" in the middle, and building a replacement habit. The usual habit-tracker answer, a streak to protect, is one of the pressure tricks the feed itself uses.
Solution: 45 Days follows my own quitting arc in five phases: Awareness; Break; Relapse, why, delete; Desert; and Rhythm. Each day opens with one of my lines from 13 posts, quoted word for word and linked to the post. Then come a short explanation, the research with its strength grade, a checklist of three or four items, one thing to do offline and a private note. Progress counts days read, Up next is the day after the furthest one read, and nothing is ever locked. It is a static Astro site on Cloudflare Pages, written in plain TypeScript with no UI framework. Progress, notes and check-ins live in a single localStorage key. Every word on the page lives in schema-checked JSON, and the build fails if any copy slips into a template.
Outcome: Live at 45-days.sankettambare.in since 19 October 2026, completing the trilogy: the accountability game, the After the Feed story, then 45 Days. It was planned on 18 October and built in twelve phases on 19 October. Playwright and axe test the production build on every run, and Lighthouse mobile scores 98–100 for performance and 100 for accessibility. Still to do before 1.0: testing on real phones and screen readers, a clinical review of the support wording, and the design sign-offs.
