Hesse, the Himalaya, a new site — July 2026

Dear reader,

Last October I sat through a talk on Across the Himalaya, the first trans-Himalayan journey made by women. This July I finally read Vineeta Muni's book, alongside Hermann Hesse's भटकंती in Marathi — two books about wandering, one across mountains and one inward.

The road gave a self-paced half marathon; the page gave eight posts. I wrote about coherence in chaos, about the maze-runner trapped in the daily grind, about what a thinking soul looks like in the modern digital world, and about the road less travelled. Twenty short posts, the busiest month for them this year.

Much of July went into this site. It became an atlas — an orbit, a dive, a map of regions — with a 3D globe on the homepage, a full editor for sharing anything as an image, and a new way to build each month's Now page from the archive itself. One post, on redesigning the site with Fable 5, tells that story.

The YouTube channel stood at 532 views by the end of the month.
